Anyone give me some tips on this. Preferably while it is still in the car. It is a 70' vert. I had the complete interior redone a different color(black from aqua) and need to painrt the dash , steering colume and console. I thought the auto top shop was gonna do this for me while they did the rest of the interior but there was miscommunication involved. I need to get this outta here and roll my 69' in and install the new mill.
TIA.

I wonder if you might spend more time trying to mask and cover all of the interior and exterior of the car than pulling the dash. Are you dead set against pulling it? If you are the only thing i am wondering is just how good you can paint down closer to the window while its still in the car? Maybe one of those really small air brush type guns. You can try as Eric suggested but its risky trying to cut window tape.

If you havent painted any interior yet ..... I repainted a bunch of the vinyl and plastic in my interior recently.

I cleaned with soap and nylon brush. Next cleaned with some pre-cleaner (Marshyde maybe) and lastly used an adhesive promoter. I am not sure if the adhesive promoter is some sort of glue or if its solvents attack the surface of the the vinyl. Lastly paint within about 10 minutes of using promoter. Use an interior paint with the right flex.

you will never get the paint to the front of the dashboard. It is the same with the rear window metal roll edge piece you have to pull the windows to do a decent job.
