Wow, that '70 is beautiful! I wasn't going to repaint mine, now you're making me reconsider! Thanks for costing me more money, lol!! What's under the hood of these two fine cars?

Looks like my question disappeared during the "fix".
Where did you get those rocker covers and air cleaner lid?
Did you make them?

Eric :)

Thanks again guys I really appreciate it

I did machine the valve covers, the air filter top and the breathers. It started out as a dare, or maybe my buddies were just seeing if I was dumb enough to do it  Well, the next thing I knew, I had whittled down a couple twenty pound blocks of aluminum to 2lbs. Coming up with the design was the hardest part; everything I was coming up with kept looking like a loaf of bread. I really tried to keep the same basic shape of the stock covers but that proved tough to do especially since I wanted to make them taller and wider than stock.

Did you all catch anything different about the valve covers on the blue engine? They have no hold down bolts. They snap over a frame that is bolted to the heads. The frame has two 1/8" o-rings around the perimeter that the valve cover compresses. It works very well and gives a clean look but on the latest versions, (on the black engine), I used scerws to hold them on.

I'm sure some are curious as to how much they would cost to produce? $1,500.00 That's why I've not advertized them to the public; you'd have to REALLY want a set for that much dough. But, I never set out to make more then just a couple, that's for sure.

Hey Frank, can you give me some details about the wheel and tire combo on your '70? Like what size/brand wheel and tire, front and back? Did you have to make any wheel well mods? How much is the car lowered front and back? Any kind of special spacing done for the back wheels? Really love that stance and wheel/tire combo!

Thank you very much! The fronts are BF Goodrich P215/70/15 on 4" wide Weld prostars. Rears, are P285/70/15 BFG's on 8" Welds with a 4.5 backspace. I did have to trim the rear wheel well lip to clear the side wall of the tire and it's a big side wall. I didn't cut it completely out; I only needed to trim out to the screws. The front has 350 springs with one coil cut out. The only ground clearance "issue" is the drive shaft loop will touch sometimes with others in the car.

Pierre, now if my car was as fast as yours, that would be AWESOME :D

I'm not sure how much I lowered it overall. I just kept creeping the back down until I liked the stance. It's tough striking that balance between low and too low; know what I mean?
