X2 on pulling the bed. 6 bolts and a wire connector to the taillights. hell, it only takes two guys to pick up an S10 bed and take it off. if you do find junk in the tank, and its made its way to the injectors, you can take them out and try cleaning the screen on top. if there is stuff inside the injectors, they are done.

I recently had a Chevy K1500 come into my shop that had a short in the fuel tank sending unit. We had power & ground to the plug on top, but nothing going down to the pump. The guy put three pumps in it before he brought it to us. He even cut an access panel in the bed. I usually start my testing at the fuse panel then fuel pump relay than at the computer. If you can get to the plug on top of the tank you can start there. Do yourself a favor & pull the wiring schematic for your truck. Spend a few minutes to hilite & understand the circuit. Chevy sometimes put the oil pressure sending unit in this circuit in order to shut down the fuel pump in the event of oil stavation. Let me know if you need a copy of the schematics.

TBI needs 11-14 psi to run correctly. you need to put a gauge on it.

i just replaced the pump, and it is getting fuel to the injectors, the only reason i know this is i took them out and cycled the key to see if i could get ssome gas down the manifold and it worked. fired right up. we went to pullapart to get some injectors but none of them worked, good thing they give you a 30 day warrinty. is there any way to clean the injectors now that they are so clogged no fuel will go though them?

pull them out and see if its the screens that are clogged. if the injector itself is clogged, i doubt you will be able to clean them. TBI injectors rarely clog but when they do, theyre done. they are about $250 each to replace too.

If it was running fine and then developed this problem it is most likely the injectors as they just do not go bad all at once. Check the rail pressure to the injectors and see if it is within specs. Something needs to trigger the injectors in the correct sequence and that is the pcm which should pick up the pulse from the crank sensor or distributor sensor.
I suggest check to make sure the pcm ground is good and also check all the engine and chassis straps and cables and every wire that goes to a sensor pull off and spray with PB blaster and shake or blow dry and re-install and also pull the connector to the pcm and check for any corosion and replug.
The best bet if these suggestions do not cure the problem is buy a manual and follow the trouble shooting section or just send it to a good ign shop or the dealer and have them put it on the scope and diagnose it and find the problem. If you want to fix it yourself after they have pin pointed the problem go ahead.
GO TO A forum on the truck make and model and pick around and ask questions as someone most likely have had the same problem and can key right in on it for you. It is most likely a 25 dollar sensor. If you have not changed the fuel filter do so also but that would not be the problem unless your fuel rail pressure is not what it should be

ok well finally got new injectors for the truck, 140 for both of them. and STILL no start. still has spark and everything. now i'm only a parts changer no mechanic by any means and so far have replaced the injectors, pump, filter, ingnition modual, coil and every other cheap part except the fuel pressure regulator. before i put the new injectors in i cycled the key to make sure i was getting fuel, through the pressure regulator. and i was. now the last time it started we had fuel comming out of one, and dribbles our of the other. i am stumped does the pressure regulator lower the pressure or raise it? is there a way can i take it out to see if the fuel will flow through the injectors? we have power going to the injectors. just no fuel. could his ecm be shot? i appreciate all help as i say again i am only a parts changer

stop being a "parts changer". its too expensive. yes, it could be a bad driver in the PCM but DONT JUST STICK A COMPUTER IN IT!!!! did you put a fuel pressure gauge on it ? yes, i know you put a pump on it but did you VERIFY pressure AND volume ? could be as simple as a bad connector at the fuel pump. you need to do some diagnostics.
